Tahoe City Sewer Rehabilitation
Tahoe City Sewer Rehabilitation Project
The existing sewer system in Tahoe City on Bunker Drive, Fairway Drive, the Tahoe City Golf Course, and Tahoe City Downtown area was constructed in the 1950s and is nearing the end of its service life.
In 2026, work will focus on Fairway Drive and a sewer line along the northwest edge of Tahoe City Golf Course.
This project will use trenchless repair methods as well as traditional dig and replace methods.
Why
The clay pipe sewer system on Fairway Drive is the second oldest sewer system in Tahoe City.
These pipe segments have reached the end of their life and have issues with cracking, sagging, and root intrusion.
To keep wastewater flowing safely and to protect public health, these sewer lines must be repaired.
When
Construction is scheduled to begin in September and conclude by October 15.
What to Expect
Once construction begins, properties adjacent to the golf course can expect crews working along the sewer easement to repair and rehab pipe sections.
Neighbors may experience associated construction activity, noise, and one-way traffic control. Access to homes will be maintained, though brief restrictions may occur. Crews will work to minimize disruptions.
